2020 Virtual A/B, Home Health and Hospice Medicare Summit Recap

More than 2,800 providers attended the 2020 Virtual A/B, Home Health & Hospice Medicare Summit Understanding Medicare as a Whole, hosted by National Government Services Home Health and Hospice team. This robust collaboration was between Palmetto GBA, Noridian Healthcare Solutions, WPS GHA, Maximus, C2C Innovative Solution, Inc., the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Division of Field Operations Investigation and Audit Group, the Department of Justice Medicare Fraud Strike Task Force, the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, the National Association for Home Care and Hospice, Connect Consulting Services, and Livanta, General Dynamics Information Technology, Benefits Coordination & Recovery Center, and CoventBridge, Unified Program Integrity Contractor.

This collective of subject matter experts offered Medicare providers a free, virtual three-day educational event from September 22 - 24, 2020. This virtual experience delivered 28 Medicare A/B, Home Health and Hospice courses, hosted within four theaters. Subject matter experts from all involved contractors educated on topics such as Medicare Secondary Payer, Planning for a Pandemic, Cost Reporting, Medicare Fraud and Abuse, Medicare Appeals, and more.

The event was extremely successful with hundreds of positive comments from providers and attendees, including kudos regarding the presentations that were offered, the setting in which the information was offered, the resources provided to attendees, the knowledge and insight of the speakers, as well as the organization of the event during the pandemic.

The A/B Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) Provider Outreach & Education (POE) developed this document to ensure consistent communication and education throughout the nation on a variety of topics and assist the provider and physician community with information necessary to submit claims appropriately and receive proper payment in a timely manner.
